The leading rule for the lawyer, as for the man of every calling, is diligence.
- Abraham Lincoln
Jorge L. Maxion, Esq. is a Civil Trial Personal Injury Attorney with the Law Offices of Craig Goldenfarb, P.A.
After completing his undergraduate education at Georgetown University with a B.A. in Government, he went on to earn his J.D. (Juris Doctorate) from the University of Miami School of Law.
Following his graduation from Law School in 1987, Mr. Maxion spent the first part of his professional career working as a liability adjuster and then staff attorney in the litigation departments of some of the nation’s largest insurers, including GEICO, Nationwide, The Travelers, and Progressive, defending the insurers from liability claims.
In approximately 2008, Mr. Maxion decided he would no longer represent insurance companies, and would work instead of behalf of injured victims. In 2014, he joined the LOCG.
Most impressively, Mr. Maxion has accumulated over 25 years of active experience as a lawyer, inside and outside of a court room. Prior to joining LOCG, Mr. Maxion has spent a majority of his career in the courtroom, as a lawyer and Magistrate in Palm Beach County Circuit Court. His experience inside the courtroom is unmatched by many personal injury lawyers who rarely find themselves in actively litigating and adjudicating cases in the court system.
Mr. Maxion has successfully resolved thousands of personal injury cases throughout his distinguished career, most of which involved automobile accidents, trucking accidents, pedestrian accidents, boating accidents, premises liability, and other general liability litigation.
Mr. Maxion is bi-lingual, and proudly serves the Spanish-speaking community of Palm Beach County. Mr. Maxion is the litigation lawyer assigned to many of the lawsuits for clients of our law firm whose first, and in some cases, only language is Spanish.
His diverse career trajectory allows him the competitive benefit of a 360-degree perspective on his cases – as a plaintiff lawyer, defense lawyer, and judicial officer – offering his clients the support and confidence they seek before, during, and following the long, arduous litigation process.
Leadership, Honors, & Community
Mr. Maxion brings with him a wealth of invaluable experience to the Law Offices of Craig Goldenfarb, P.A. He has worked as a litigator for insurance companies and a few major private liability defense firms, and prior to joining the firm, served as a General Magistrate for the Palm Beach Circuit Court, 15th Judicial Circuit, presiding over 1,000 non-jury trials and more than 5,000 case management conferences for the Foreclosure Division.
His responsibilities during his tenure as Magistrate involved presiding over and preparing reports and recommendations to Judges regarding pretrial motions and non-jury trials in foreclosure cases at a time when Florida ranked among the highest in the nation for foreclosure backlogs following the housing market crisis of 2007-2008.
Mr. Maxion’s leadership and demonstrable litigation competence while working on the pending backlog of foreclosure cases in order to bring them to issue, made him a successful Magistrate. He is now using his litigation skills to prepare his cases for trial without needless delays by the opposition in order to obtain just compensation for injured clients.
Mr. Maxion is bi-lingual, allowing the team at the Law Offices of Craig Goldenfarb, P.A. to collectively better serve the needs of the larger Hispanic demographic in Palm Beach County.
He enjoys serving the community and has been both a volunteer and Board Member of Hope Outreach, an organization dedicated to helping those in need resulting from job loss, disability, health crises, and other emergencies. Additionally, Mr. Maxion has a longstanding service record as a Youth Sports Coach in Broward County.
Many weekends, you may hear Jorge as a guest on the Interactive Community Alliance’s Saturday radio program, a show that provides free on-air resources and information for local Hispanic communities, or you may seem him out at one of the many events he does at various Hispanic supermarkets and other public locations in Palm Beach County.
Mr. Maxion lives in Wellington, and loves to spend time with his two daughters who both attend Florida State University.
