Our client, Larry Corder, had been visiting the home of his girlfriend’s boss for a pleasant evening get-together. Enjoying the breeze, Larry had strolled out onto the dock that extends into the intracoastal when a horrifying tragedy occurred. Mr. Corder had stepped onto a loose board, causing the board to fly up and into the wine glass he was holding. The wine glass smashed into his face, breaking into tiny shards.
He suffered multiple injuries to his arms, feet, and head. His left eye had been penetrated by the glass, causing permanent blindness. After several unsuccessful surgeries, Mr. Corder had no choice but to accept a prosthetic eye, which he wears to this day.
Litigation Director Spencer T. Kuvin, Esq. and Craig M. Goldenfarb, Esq. were successful in overcoming the defense attorney’s arguments, ultimately settling at mediation for $1.3 million in insurance proceeds on behalf of Mr. Corder.
